Family Allergy & Asthma operates two Pollen Counting Stations that are certified by the National Allergy Bureau in Louisville and Florence, Kentucky. Our pollen counting stations collect common allergens in our region of the United States, this includes ragweed, common grasses (Kentucky bluegrass, bermuda, redtop, orchard and timothy grasses), and common trees (Oak, Cedar, Willow, Pine, Birch, and Mulberry) as well as mold spores.
Many people have a pollen allergy to different types of regional pollen; it is one of the most common causes of allergic rhinitis in our patients. Pollen are tiny, airborne particles that difficult hard to avoid when outside; we recommend tracking the pollen count to help reduce your contact to pollen. Environmental control products can also help reduce your expose to pollen by filtering it out of the air you breathe, however, they are not 100% effective.
Fortunately, immunotherapy may be an option to treat your pollen allergies. We recommend getting allergy tested to identify which allergens are bothersome; from there, our doctors can develop a personalized treatment plan to help you find relief.
Don’t suffer from untreated allergies. Schedule an appointment today with one of our board-certified allergists, and move towards a clearer tomorrow.
